Greetings.
I thought today's brainstorming session on the website, installfests, and the
auction was really productive. I enjoy talking about how we can contine to
improve CLUE. Everyone brings a different het important point of view to the
discussions and I think we all benefit. I know I do personally.
Meetings like today are what makes it fun to be a volunteer for CLUE. The
result is that we all make CLUE a successful user group. Finally, I
appreciate everyone taking the time to meet and everyone's personal efforts
to organizing and contributing to the lug.
Please let me know if I missed anything in the notes. Some details about
website will be taken to the CLUE-Dev list. Details about the silent auction
will go in to the document I will send out tomorrow.
Finally, if you have other ideas that were generated on the drive home,
please email to clue-admin or to me directly. For those that have a to do,
item, please follow up with clue-admin when you have something to distribute.
Thanks!
Jeff

LD and JC need to meet with DP (how about lunch?) to explain the details of
the position and pass along any sage advice (mostly from LD!)·
Website Upgrade / Makeover
=======================
+ Jed Baer developed a prototype CLUE web site using phpweblog. Thanks, Jed!
+ Board members previewed the prototype, majority liked the idea but others
want to know about additional functionality not provided by a weblog:
- Web site discussion -- support if tied to email lists.
- Classified ads
- Admin tracking: prize inventory, presentation archive, book reviews
- Speaker suggestions.
+ Given the additional items that are important to the admins, we decided to
hold off on a web site makeover.
+ Before we change the site, we will ask CLUBies to fill out a survey to
indicate desired functionality.
To Do
+++++
+ JC will write a 10 question web site survey and publish it to the CLUE home
page. Announce survey at meeting, run until end of May.
+ JC will call a clue-development meeting the results of survey ends.
+ CLUE-Dev will look for alternative software, esp the software used by Ars
Digita. Are there open source content management systems available yet? Can
we extend phpweblog? (More discussion on CLUE-Dev).
