Kevin,

I have not heard of AXS, so I read their web site.  It looks like a useful 
program and here are some differences:

+ webalizer reads the apache logs, something like AXS is another logging 
device that would simply slow down pages served because in addition to the 
apache logging, AXS would have to log as well.

+ webalizer can crank through our 80 MB log file faster than most perl 
scripts because it is written in C.

+ webalizer generates nifty graphical reports.

+ webalizer can be configured to do log rotation.

+ webalizer has a million features for sorting and generating reports.  The 
ones I generated were the default report set.

+ webalizer can read any type of logs, not just apache, that conform to the 
common log format.
