FYI,

I have written up the basics of what we are attempting to do on the
wiki, see Member Accounts Plan on the wiki.

We can continue the guesswork in this thread, and as ideas firm up, I
will keep the wiki plan up to date.

Anyone else is welcome to fill in the blanks.
