Here's the review of our meeting on 11/26. I hope that it's in time to prepare for a productive
meeting on 12/14 (Tuesday).

Ideas:
------
My main goal for this flurry of activity is to determine what needs to be done to make the group
operate and document it. Then people can either do that and we'll have a group, or not and we
won't. Here is what I have so far:

Meetings:
- Arrange speakers
- Provide space
- Publish the meeting schedule/topics sufficiently in advance
- Announce the meetings sufficiently in advance
- Conduct meetings according to a standard agenda
- Archive presentations/meeting details

Installfest:
- Provide space
- Publish details and information sufficiently in advance
- Announce sufficiently in advance

Web site:
- Provide hosting
- Maintain server
- Maintain mailing lists
- Maintain web site
- Perform back up and restore

Leadership:
- Provide organization and motivation to enable and encourage people to do the above things

Being done:
-----------
Dennis is working on Drupal as a replacement for our web site. Jon and Collins want to help.

David W is drafting a "constitution" to spell out how we'll operate, if there's a consensus that we
need such a thing.

David W is taking a poll of how many lists we should have. I expect that when the poll is done the
most popular choice will be announced and implemented.

I have arranged the meeting for the 14th and will arrange a sister meeting "up north".

Miscellanea:
------------
For completeness here are some other things that entered the discussion.

The desire for a change to our mailing lists is largely driven by a need to be able to reliably
contact the membership. We could do this with one list or with a mechanism to ensure there is a
list that contains all members. The choices for the poll are:
  - one list for all "relevant" topics
  - one general list and an announce list (for those that don't want regular list messages but who
want to know about events)
  - the current set of lists

The existence (or not) of a CLUE North sub-group is entirely dependent on people making meetings
happen. Northerners are already covered by installfest.

I had been asked about more frequent installfests. I'm happy to hear suggestions of what people
want but we aren't overwhelmed with participants at our current installfest schedule and I'm not
sure I have the ability to coordinate more meetings. A hacking society style activity might be able
to fill this need.

There are plenty of local people who could be speakers at our meetings, topics that people want to
hear, and ideas about how to coordinate them. Whoever is coordinating should be proactive in mining
these ideas and identifying areas where help is needed.

Our hosting service needs to be paid in January. There have been suggestions to move to a different
provider than VPSLink.

Attendance:
-----------
Dave Anselmi, David Wilson, Collins Richey, Jon Buttjer, Dennis Perkins.

Thanks for your attention. Those at the meeting feel free to reply if you have any additional ideas
that need to be mentioned.

Dave
