[clue-admin] Focus and direction some

I agree CLUE needs more volunteerism form its membership.
I wax poetic for the days of the CLIQs 1 and 2.

Who wants to sign up for hard, unpaid work until you can't do any more? A year, sure, but forever? Not this Indian. Add to that the fact that Jed's been in bondage past his wanting to pass the torch for two years. It seems like an annual "put up or shut up" meeting is just what the club needs.

I know what mine is, and what Dave's is, and what Dennis' is. Only big ideas are going to get your club moving again. What do you want? Things as they are?

Here are the results I want: 50 people in the room for every meeting, money in the pot, everyone learns a bit and has fun, and nobody is doing a volunteer job that sucks.

Now granted, David A. has collected donations if I am following the CLUE-Admin postings correctly (thanks and nice job BTW!). But that leaves, "what does the future entail?" still. As noted along these recent topics is that everyone seems to get excited (or perhaps panicked) at the last minute, then things fade to "what was that issue?" when it comes up (several months) later.

Typically one remained as "CLUE President" until there was a desire to "pass the torch" such as with Jeff Cann to Dennis on the last term. Now there is a request for having "elections" for positions of such. Did I miss something about Dennis desiring to "pass the torch" or was there an assumption that came up from someone somewhere? Same with the "charter" since I am pondering why something now when it has not been done since CLUE started perhaps or even became a bit more organized (if such can be quantified of course)? Just putting this on the table as food for thought.

Worst case I could attempt to make a quick Drupal site as well (minus the Mailman side initially) since I am working on a Drupal front end for CLUE "webinars" or "presentations" to go with the webinar/conferencing system. Thought since others mentioned interest in the main CLUE web site via a CMS, I have no issues seeing the results.
