There was a CLUE server hosted at Techangle. It was horribly out of date (and got hacked, I think).
We got a 4u case (from Mike Benavides, maybe?) and I set it up with Debian to be the replacement.
By the time we moved it I couldn't be the admin anymore. And then Techangle went away and Jeff
(or whoever rebuilt it). I think that's when CentOS came in.
I think we can use the server stuff from Ubuntu so we don't waste space on desktop stuff. Debian
would work better if we want a "give me the bare minimum plus what I ask for" approach. I don't
know how Debian's tasks (groups of packages) compare to Ubuntu--certainly more flexibility and
variation is possible but I haven't used them so I can't say they have the packages that you'd expect.
I don't expect to be more involved than I am now so I don't care much which distro we use (I have to
look up the RH way whenever I do something significant). But if we use Debian (especially) or
Ubuntu I'd certainly be happy to provide help on the "Debian way".
