Every semester I select one student as a technology intern.
I guess he stayed late after school because I just got email
from a school account saying:

Hey Mr. Frank!

I got it to work!  So we now have a three node beowulf cluster 
sitting in Room 215 at school!  Exciting.  I didn't use the ideal 
method to get it working, but it still does right now.  I just setup 
a few more things on the x2 node and used that for the master 
for the povray, like you were suggesting earlier.  Then it sent 
the processes out the way it was supposed to, and after I did 
that, I tried it again from x1 and it spawned the process to 
itself and both of the other machines just fine.  Next we 
can start creating a huge cluster with the lab!  That will be cool.

It's only three nodes - until tomorrow when we'll try to make
it thirty-three.  Working with this student and watching the
learning and the excitement grow and getting this mail, well,
next time someone asks me if going into teaching was a
good idea I won't have to think back far for the answer.
