Apparently the Business Software Alliance (aka the software
police) have been on a new campaign declaring a truce for the
month of February. Below is an excerpt from the NCLUG
that may be of interest to some of you.

It sounds like a good opportunity for some Linux activism.
'Anyone up for helping out with a grass roots campaign of
our own?

Yeah, Evelyn got one too... "We only use properly licensed
free software." ;-)

The letter basicly says "Go out and buy a bunch of software, and
when our inspectors come by just show them the receipts for the
a butt-load of software you bought (hopefully from the people
who are paying us Monday, like Adobe) and we'll leave you alone."

I bet you they're tracking their success by sales increasees over
the next month.

That's a fantastic idea. I'm going to copy this to BLUG and the Meta
list. "Tired of getting threatened with suprise inspections of your
computers? They suggest you go out and buy their software, we
would like to give you ours."
