Sprintbroadband is no longer accepting new customers. Yup. According
to their website, they will support existing customers, but until they
figure out the "optimum cost structure", new service is not available.

I guess it's the same as their Sprint Spectrum phone service. They knew
that it wouldn't scale, but they signed up customers anyway all the
while planning the rollout of Sprint PCS. Finally, they turned of
Spectrum and attempted to get people to buy into PCS. Well, they got
sued, lost, and had to provide PCS phones and accessories to all the
Spectrum customers.

My guess is that they will eventually deploy some next generation
wireless that obviates a hardware investment that the current technology
requires.
