[CLUE-Talk] My Palm died, which one should I get

I have an 8M Handspring. I like it. There is a 16M one coming out. I
rarely use more than 4, though. The color is pretty, but generally
kills battery life, and I have yet to see a color model with replaceable
batteries (what happens if you are out of town without your charger?)
There are starting to be some Linux based machines, but most of the
ones with decent hardware support require you to pay the MS tax. Palm
makes great machines, and is adding expandibility, or for the ultimate
in expandibility try TRG Pro.

Well, that was a lot of rambling without a real answer, so:

Get at least 8M.
Stick to a screen that does not REQUIRE the backlight.
Get one with replaceable batteries (rechargeable too would be nice, but
I get months out of 2 AAA's so it's not needed)
Linux sure would be cool, but Palm OS may be your best bet, especially
if you want to get it at a local retailer.
