[CLUE-Talk] CMM and Process Improvements

Hi all,

This week end I was with some great people and a discussion around CMM
and process improvement came about. Thought this might be of interest to
those that are now getting it.

"You never KNOW your problems as thoroughly until you apply the Six
Sigma methodology and tools. It takes you right to the heart of the
solution. Six Sigma will take you to the real root causes and help you
to fix the problems permanently with facts. For those organizations with
a 'Just another program, another waste of time, another flavor of the
month' attitude - Remember people make it that way, not the tools. These
tools work wonders for serious and committed organizations, but if
you're cynical about it, nothing works. Good luck and get with the
program. Six Sigma will be a big eye-opener for you and many others who
think they already know all the answers. Believe me, it's a very
humbling and professional growth experience." 

Six Sigma is a methodology for improvements, FYI. But the comment above
hits it on the head about improvements.
