Actually, if you care to spend the money, and fill out the paper work, you
too can posses full-auto. I don't remember the criteria used by the BATF
to approve/disprove the application, but the process is in place, and the
mechanism is a special "tax stamp". You do need to get a signoff from the
Chief of Police in the jurisdiction where you live, so it getting the
application even finished can become an arbitrary process.
