In case no one else has tools, I think GNU has a partition resizer (parted or something like that, maybe gparted).  You might want to make sure you have that with you.

As suggested, defrag before you come.  I've had trouble defragging NTFS on Win2k - after several passes it still reports fragmentation and didn't seem to put things at the front of the partition.  Hopefully you won't have the same results.
