This would be like charging for Netscape.  So what.  I will use Mozilla. 
 Charge for Star Office.  Open Office will take on a life of its own. 
 Someone will write a spell checker for it.  Maybe someone you know.  No 
problem.  They are not selling an office suite.  They are selling a 
spell checker and the database component.  The rest is GPL.  Let them 
try to sell it.  OK.  Get the source when you buy a copy, and distribute 
the parts covered by the GPL, which is all but the spell checker and 
pseudo-database.
