Linux Gazette is an e-zine.  It probably isn't as good as Zonker's
stuff, but it's free.  So if you don't have time to do more than skim
(like me) you don't spend more than you want.

The articles I've seen in the few copies of LJ or LM I've picked up have
been pretty good though.  Maybe you can check them out at the library or
a book store (Tattered Cover has comfortable reading chairs) if you have
to choose between them.
