Yeah, I can recommend three people, myself included who would do the
trick as far as getting the file server setup via Samba. If you would
like us to come in and take a look, you can reach me at:

Mike Black

(720) 479-9420

You will get a message stating that you have reached J'S Computers if I
am not there. If you wish, you can leave a message. Glad I could help.

Hi All--

Looks like my old CD burner has given up the ghost. Does anybody have an
old one lying around that they would sell for cheep? I don't care if
it's agonizingly slow, as long as it works and is supported by cdrecord.
Also:

 * external (no drive bay available)
 * SCSI or parallel port (no USB ports on my box)

Please let me know.

Hi gang,

I've been following the list and testing Linux for about 9 mos. (newbie)
and
I'm ready to switch the peer-to-peer fileserver at my 2-person office in
LoDo to Linux from WinME.

I put Mandrake on a spare box with a 60GB hard drive. 3 computers total,
1
'server' and 2 dual-boot workstations. All on the same DHCP router
supplied
by Qwest for the DSL connection. I've been messing with Samba but
limited
success. Don't need to serve web pages, DNS, DHCP, email, etc. from the
fileserver.

Anyone recommend a Samba consultant that I could hire to come in and get
the
filesharing configured. I'll be out of town until Monday and get the
replies
then.

Thanks for your help,

You know, CLUE really should let us host the mailing list. That way we
could have gotten like $10k and CLUE would have the projector. ;-/

I'll help. My rate is $50/hour. This sounds like an hour's work. I've
set this up on Red Hat many times, using the config file, so it should
be pretty straightforward.

Hey, I was there too. We almost acquired a projector. ;-) (But Dave was
too honest.)

Also, Steve Lehr and Todd Williams showed up.

Was Red Hat providing any good info? Or was it primarily an 8.0=20

Some of us got T-shirt's (because we were pesky), everybody got buttons
and a 2-disc distro, one guy actually got a fedora like mine, and those
of us that 'chased the bus' got to bend their ears for another few hours
while they bought beer and snack-age. Pretty fun stuph.

Jefferson County's got 120 Red Hat Linux machines! Wow! I've only got
three... :-(
