I seem to recall someone getting fired in 99 for trying to deploy an NT WAN 
world-wide.  NT, the email system, and I don't recall what else failed 
miserably and cost millions of dollars.  Too bad I don't remember the company.

I think that the original solution was some Unix system with different vendor 
software packages.  Then MS came in and did its song and dance to some upper-
level managers, who overrode the IT people.  That's the trouble with letting 
management make
decisions.
