XP Denver's September meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 30th at the
Qwest Auditorium in Downtown Denver. Doors open early at 5:30pm for a
networking and refreshments. We have the priviledge of hosting guest speaker
Grady Booch, Chief Scientist at Rational Software.

Grady Booch is recognized internationally for his innovative work on
software architecture, modeling, and software engineering process. His work
has improved the effectiveness of software developers worldwide. He has been
with Rational Software Corporation as Chief Scientist since its founding in
1980. Grady is one of the original developers of the Unified Modeling
Language (UML) and was also one of the original developers of several of
Rational's products including Rational Rose. Grady has served as architect
and architectural mentor for numerous complex software systems around the
world.

Grady is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the American
Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and Computer
Professionals for Social Responsibility (CPSR). He sits on the board of the
Agile Alliance, and is an ACM Fellow and a Rational Fellow. Grady received
his BS in engineering from the United States Air Force Academy in 1977 and
his MSEE from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1979.

DIRECTIONS:

The Qwest auditorium is at their building on the corner of 17th and Curtis
at 1005 17th Street. At street level, to the right of the escalators, are
doors leading to elevators. Take an elevator to the "A" level (Auditorium).

In addition to street parking, there is an outside parking lot on the East
side of the Qwest building that costs $5 after 4pm. Several other lots are
within a few blocks and covered parking can be found in the Tabor Center for
$4.
