Interesting that this kicked off a bit of a discussion over when to tell
folks to shut up, if at all.

I was recently reading Boulder Weekly (Apr 17-23) and on page 7, upper left,
is a letter from a liberal that tells people to shut the f--- up. He
apparently seems fired up over boycott movements and obviously fails to
understand that in the free market, voting with your wallet IS a form of
speech. People can mouth off all they want, but people don't have to pony up
for their wares, either. CEOs can't go blathering on about their views
without expecting some sort of repercussions, why should entertainers expect
a free pass? Free speech doesn't mean free of all consequences.

I loved Tim Robbins little "there's a chill wind a-blowin'" speech. These
things that some liberals do make some folks really, really angry. I find
their little outbursts entertaining. I must have watched Michael Moore's
little tantrum ten times or more and I laughed until my belly hurt. The
irony of a man accused of making a bogus "documentary" calling the president
fictitious makes great comedy in my book.

...of course, the "Grow up, America" letter on the same page was also rich
with good, wholesome, fun. I enjoyed the last sentence that addresses this
nation: "Please grow up out of this adolescent state and pay attention to
The Elders in the world out there. They have been around, you know." She
neglects to name those Elders, though. I'd love to know who she thinks they
are.

I'm like Matt, only the Libertarian version, I guess. I have always loved
talking politics, reading about politics, listening about politics, etc.,
and sometimes I just can't help myself when it comes to entering the fray.
