I forgot who asked me at the InstallFest about my
preference for SCSI or Serial ATA. I use SCSI on my
desktop, but that my change in the future...

Currently I have an IBM DDYS-T36950N 36 GB drive w/
Adaptec U2W Ultra/160 Controller.

SPECS (Mar. 2003 ComputerWorld)

ATA
-speed: 5,400-7,200 rpm
-transfer: 100 MB/sec
-available: now

Serial ATA 1.0
-speed: 5,400-10,000 rpm
-transfer: 150 MB/sec
-available: now

Serial ATA II
-speed: 5,400-10,000 rpm
-transfer: 300 MB/sec
-available: Mid 2004

Serial ATA III
-speed: 5,400-10,000 rpm
-transfer: 600 MB/sec
-available: Mid 2007

SCSI
-speed: 10,000-15,000 rpm
-transfer: 320 MB/sec

Hope this helps,

Otis Lamar
