I agree. SCO Unix isn't great. At least it is very stable. We use it where I
work and the maintenance contract is coming up for renewal. Since we did not
need their help during the last year and we are phasing out our Unix-based
product, I will probably recommend against renewal.
They do get some licensing fees from others for parts of the Unix code,
including IBM. They have threatened to pull IBM's right to some code inside
AIX. I think they have probably succeeded in getting a lot of companies
considering alternatives to SCO if other companies think SCO is sinking fast.
