Depends on the failure.  The 2600 series uses two different types of RAM 
(flash and normal)- each can be replaced, should that be the failed, for 
a lot less then the cost of a new 2600.  If the mainboard of the 2600 
died, you would need a replacement, but, if the RAM was still good, you 
would want to keep that as the flash has the IOS and all your 
configuration information.
