here is the ansewers to some of your questions

1. an xbox only has a 10/100base-T; no modem onboard

2. an xbox can display 1080i/720p/480p/480i

3. i use my xboxs as 1) i media player mainly for divx movies (mpeg
works fine) and as a mp3 jukebox that reads off nfs mounts from my
server 2) as standalone webserver.

I know you are interested in this. Gentoo makes a great system for xbox,
but you should check out
