The guy is facing a possible maximum sentence of 15 years. To compare that
to actual sentences given in actual cases is a bit disengenuous. Now I
agree that 15 years for $200,000 (estimated) in damages is excessive. But
do you think he'll get that on a first offense? Well, maybe. What would
have been a valid comparison in that entry would have been the current
max. sentences for violent crime, as of 2004, instead of actual sentences
from 1995.
