Just "eject" is usually sufficient, unless the CD is being accessed by
something or if you have multiple drives. (eject -t will retract the
tray).

If you want to have fun with someone who doesn't know much about
computers/Linux, you can log into a Linux machine remotely while
they're using it and pop and retract the CD tray a few times. I really
freaked my younger brother out with that, popping the CD tray while I
was logged into his system from work...
