[clue-talk] Linux auto-install DB and other stuff

On clue talk, I just read that MySQL
in pre-installed on Mac. I'm impressed.

Does any Linux distribution have this
as an option. Does it work smoothly?
As I remember KDE, gnome, or compilers
could be chosen at OS install-time;
and they worked fine.

Since Mac has a BSD (Unix-like) interface,
do Make and shell scripts work as well as
on Linux? I am thinking of scripts found 
in various Open Source packages.
