Guys,
Thanks for the advice and info.
I have used various freeware and
OpenSource-type software on Windows.
The packages that interest me, in
the near term, seem to be Linux or
Unix oriented: Make files and Unix
shell scripts.
One package had a disclaimer,
I paraphrase:
"This Windows executable may contain
a virus becuase we have no computer
to test it on." ...Hmmm.
Once I find a package I really like,
it could be worth my time to install
and trouble-shoot it on Windows.
