Buy a server within six months of a Debian release. Odds are it won't
boot or install with Debian stable, once it ships. With the last release,
ATA100 support didn't exist when ATA133 was quickly becoming standard.
With the current one, the problem was I think either a buggy installer
that couldn't do a network install properly or SATA support--I can't
remember which just now finally caused me to throw up my hands in sheer
frustration and declare it a flaming turd.

The Ubuntu which came out before the last Debian stable had a newer
version of the Debian installer than Debian was using, and it fixed the
bugs with the red screen of death. They also had working SATA support.
