We have packet 8 over a 802.11 ptp connection.   I live in the boonies, 
and a regular phone is over $60.   However, I can get a high speed 
connection and a VOIP line for about $70, so it is worth it.   Packet 8 
has been nothing but good.   It depends on the stability of your data 
line, though.
