I didn't realize the "lose a job" question was posted to the list. So I don't need to answer it another 3 times, I'll now post this answer to the list:

The short answer is no, every employer has realized that I'd win any lawsuit based of off them not following federal law during hiring. While some have had to taken time, each has pulled out their "Employer's guide to the I-9" or whatever its called, and the similar instruction book for the W-4. Each of those manuals has the Privacy Act Notice required by law, showed me the requisite section, and they get a government form filled out. I haven't held out for a version of the form(s) legal under the Act and Supreme Court ruling (notice technically is required on the form, not hidden in the instructions). Getting the government to print the forms correctly, requires me to go after the IRS, Department of Justice (old I-9) and/or Department of Homeland Security (new I-9)... I'm not ready for that fight.

I've never been given a job position where I've needed to ask for an SSN, so that isn't a problem, although HR also hates me for using "DENIED" as my SSN for company health insurance.

You beat me to the question. I have to admire Yaverot, though: even though
I've known about the SSN thing since about 1994, I've always capitulated.
I've capitulated on the Piss Police wanting to have at my bodily fluids,
too, though...which pretty much makes me part of the herd.
