Currently Seeking Linux Subject Matter Experts for CompTIA Linux+ Job Task Analysis
July 28-30, 2008
Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.

CompTIA is currently seeking Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assist in the
re-development of CompTIA Linux+ through participation in a Job Task Analysis (JTA).

The purpose of a JTA is to identify areas of competence required for certification, and
to ensure that the examination objectives are relevant to job roles and activities of
network and systems administrators with foundational Linux knowledge and experience.
Assistance from SMEs is crucial in developing high quality, current and relevant content
appropriate to the level of expertise for which the certification is being updated.

In this first of three phases, SMEs will help develop a JTA research document out of
which CompTIA will produce an updated knowledge and skills standard for professionals
who do daily Linux administration. Phase II and III will consist of item (question)
writing/review and beta exam analysis (recruitment will begin once the Phase I SMEs have
been determined).

For more information about the JTA and a listing of SME requirements, or to apply, visit
http://certification.comptia.org/linux/jta.aspx.

Although CompTIA appreciates interest from the training community, applications from
trainers, authors or individuals who may profit or materially benefit from knowledge of
the CompTIA Linux+ certification content are not eligible to participate as SMEs.
