David,

Our engineering team mentioned that we're going to make an "announcement" in regards to
the inquiry next week at VMWorld. Apparently this has been a frequent topic of
conversation for quite some time. I wish I had more details, but it's confidential
until next week.

Doug,

Does Vmware have a Linux console for ESX on the roadmap?

I've been using and recommending your products for a long time. One of the reasons I
use and endorse your products is because Vmware is highly platform neutral. I was very
disappointed to find that your premiere product, ESX Server, can't be managed from my
workstation, because I don't run Windows. Maybe Workstation and Server have spoiled me,
but I really expected to be able to use ESX the same way. I was disappointed, and then
increasingly upset as I researched and found users clamoring for a Linux client for two
years, with no official word.

So, I'm coming to you for the official word. Will I ever be able to manage ESX from my
own workstation (which will always run Linux)?
