Under VB, I don't recommend using Compiz or any other desktop effects.  VB's 3D acceleration lags behind the commercial offerings.

      Thanks Brian for recommending Virtualization software. With Sun Virtualbox and Windows Vista, it runs so slow, that I need to give 3/4 of my memory to Vista, and only 1/4 to Ubuntu, or else Ubuntu won't load. It is almost impossible to find a driver for my Lanport for Ubuntu, and with this configuration, I don't need one. It uses the Vista lanport driver, and I was able to use add/remove to download some programs. It was a lot of fun getting it working.

     Do you know how to get the Compiz effects working in Ubuntu as a guest OS?
