When I first started attending Clue meetings, I was very intimidated. I
didn't know much about computers. I felt like a loser. That was about
two years ago. In those two years, I have gotten proficient with both
computers and Linux, and now I don't need much help. But, the group has
a deep meaning to me, and now that I am leaving town, I don't know if
the next city will have a group that I can trust and get to know in the
same way I have with this group.

The people in Clue have become a support group for me. I guess that is a
weird thing to say. I don't know if anyone else has posted a similar
comment in the mailing lists. I have people I can turn to when I get
lonely or life throws problems at me. Maybe, others in the group feel
the same way. Like when they are going through a divorce, or the kids
grow up and leave home or they get layed off.

I think of the Red Green Show. Has anyone seen it enough to be familiar
with the show? There are no women on the show. Only men. It is about a
guy in a hunting lodge. But, hunting and fishing, or killing animals
seems to be just a backdrop for the men to connect, and talk about
problems. It is more subtle than that. They start the meetings with "I'm
a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess." Real confident!

Maybe, I am not the only one who sees women as a difficulty or a
problem. There are very few women in the Clue meetings, and I wonder if
there were more, if it would make the men self-conscious. I wonder if it
would ruin the flow. I know I am not the only one who has grown to trust
the people in Clue. I trust them more than my family.
