This would be an appropriate time to say good-bye to the CLUE group, I think. I have accepted a job transfer to my employer's head offices in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and I live in Calgary now. I won't be attending the CLUE meetings obviously, unless I happen to be in Denver on a meeting night. It was a pleasure knowing y'all and being a part of the group. You might be interested to learn that I was the person who introduced Linux to this company; back in 1997, I deployed a Linux server. Since that time it has never crashed, although it is on faster hardware now than it was then. The Linux use in the company has mushroomed, and in fact the reason I'm here is to help the R&D department re-engineer our entire product line to run on Linux. I like to think I've had a pivotal role in bringing the benefits of Linux to the company. Our product managers have implemented a strict no-Microsoft software policy for our field products. (We still use M$ in the office, of course, but our field products are all embedded servers etc. and there is no reason to use Microsoft software for a custom embedded solution.) Anyway, good-bye for now. I may still lurk on the lists but I haven't had time to read them lately. --JimO -- Jim Ockers (ockers@ockers.net) Ask me about Linux!
