Having my disk drive get corrupted this weekend, I would put backups
of /etc and /home at the top of that list.  I'm too damn lazy to do
tape backups.  As cheap as hard disks are these days, I think the 
answer for me is to set up cron routines to tar up critical 
directories on a weekly basis and incremental back ups in between.

Is anyone aware of problems with the ALI M15xx IDE driver?  This is 
the second disk I've had problems with in the last few months and 
I'm suspecting it may not be a hardware problem.
