[CLUE-Tech] using Earthlink with Linux

If he is using redhat, they have a nice dialup config applet that will let
him bypass the minicom part altogether. ... Then he can just use redhat's
control panel in X to start and stop a ppp session.

Otherwise, the 'chat' program does this well to. then he can built a
simple executable script to start and stop the ppp session (with any distro)

Minicom is great for testing the connect, and seeing what the remote end
sends and expects when bringing up a session, but a script is much nicer
for day-to-day use. The chat docs include a nice sample to start with.

hope this helps
