Greetings,

Not too long ago I recall a post (Kevin C.?) re: if there was a web search 
engine and/or software that could access web databases instead of just 
static web pages.

This may be the ticket:

The RMN had a writeup on BrightPlanet in Sat 7/29 Business section (not 
online) FYI.
