P.S. I was thinking of plain text documents (with images) in my last post.

However, I have written CLUE presentations using StarImpress (Star Office
Powerpoint). You can export the presentation as an HTML page.

Here is a StarImpress presentation exported to HTML, using Star Office 5.1.
It is from a Linux presentation about 2 years ago:

IMHO - Star Office exports HTML quite well. I have exported from Text
documents with embedded graphics and from StarImpress. I have had few
problems with it and unlike MS Office, it does not add a bunch of VRML and
funky stuff that will only display in IE browsers.

Try it out, you may be surprized. I understand that you may want to write
your presentation by hand to learn the technology, but using something like
Star Office is a hell of a lot easier than coding HTML or SGML or { fill in
favorite mark-up here }.

Later,
Jeff
