That HOWTO won't help unless you upgrade your kernel to 2.4, I would
say take one thing at a time, and get ipchains set up first, if you
later want to rebuild your kernel, it's not hard to switch from
ipchains (2.2 kernel method for firewalling and masq) to iptables (2.4
method, has advanced features)
