[CLUE-Tech] vi form of command history editor in bash?

Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle (or some other relation).  

I tried putting "set -o vi" back into .bashrc and it works fine now.
For 2 or 3 versions whenever I did that it munged up the shell real
bad...honest.  I should have tried again with my current version before
posting.
