Selelect MS-DOS file system in make menuconfig

make modules; make modules_install (no need to reboot here)

insmod msdos.o

mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /root/fd0 ... or wherever you want to mount it.

I have seen somewhere, that you can allow users to mount cd-roms and
floppies, but I am not sure how to do that.
