  Well, first off, there is a MUCH newer version of Postgres available. It up to v7.03. 
  The  file you need should be in /usr/local/pgsql/include or thereabouts.  You should have an environment variable POSTGRES_INCLUDE pointing there. 





  I'm showing my ignorance here . . . I visited www.postgresql.org.  What is an RPM?  What is the procedure after I have downloaded the RPM?
