Would that be 10 or 100 mbit ethernet that is faster than a 256 mbit line? 
Or do you have gigabit ethernet?  My 100mb ethernet is my bottle neck over my
256/640 Qwest DSL.

It works great with the Cisco 675 ADSL modem.  The internal cards are so
called "win" devices which means a substantial portion of the functionality,
that might be done with hardware for best perfomance, is done via a driver
for windows.  This causes a performance hit and it is the reason why there is
not (to my knowledge) a Linux driver for them.

I have the same problem with my Ezonics digital camera/web cam.  ;(
