Is it possible to set up a log to monitor an individual Linux process? 
Or can you just watch a single process in a terminal window to see if
it's doing anything?  I'm able to watch it in a window of all the
processes. I want to know if "xntpd" is actually getting the time, or
just sitting there running.  Before when I had a cable modem, it would
synchronize the time at boot up, but now with a modem, I don't know what
is happening because I don't start the modem until after I log on as a
user.
