Haven't used PPPConfig or WorldNet.  But since no one else has answered,
here's what I'd do.

Does PPPConfig do the dialing and so on, or does it just configure a
chat script?

Anyway, dial WorldNet using minicom or another terminal program
(probably help to capture the session to a file).  When you connect, you
should get a login prompt of some sort (hit enter if nothing comes up by
itself).  Put in your name and password when asked and see if it
authenticates.  You'll either get an error message or some gibberish as
ppp starts.  You can hang up at that point.

If you get an error message, you know where to look next.  If you get to
the ppp part, you should have enough info about the process to automate
it with PPPConfig.
