FYI

The Clue group certainly has enough heavyweights to answer most any
questions, but if you're like me, you can never have enough Linux
friends. I've subscribed to another group for a number of years, and
you may find it interesting, too. If not, send this posting to
/dev/null now.

The linux.nf group started out several years ago as the Caldera users
group (run by a long time user on Norfolk Island, thus the .nf in the
url), but the group split off when Caldera became less interested in
supporting its Linux offering. Now the server is stateside.

There are subscribers world-wide (Canada, UK, US, Australia, South
Africa being the heavy hitters). Several well known authors
contribute regularly, and a number of individuals with their own
servers and/or Linux businesses are on board as well. The group is
now distro-neutral. There are still some Caldera users, but Red Hat,
Mandrake, SuSE, Linux from Scratch, gentoo, debian, and other distros
are discussed.

As you will see from the site, the group maintains a library of Step
by Step HOWTO procedures contributed by the members. Newbies are
welcome on the list, but you must be willing to do a little research
on your own when you ask for help.

One aspect about the group some of you may find appalling: Many of
the core members have been at the very least email buddies for years,
so there are occasional bursts of totally off-topic camaraderie and
the occasional flame war. The traffic is in the 10-50 messages per
day range.

The primary site is http://linux.nf, and there are numerous mirrors.
You can sign up at the site.

Try it if you like it.
