[CLUE-Tech] Debian: gpm not installing by default

I just did a semi-standard/stable install, of Debian.
And I do seem to recall a problem with one versionof X and mice?
Debian reminds me the why Slack used to be a couple of years ago as far as
basic disk space use.
What whatever reason, it got a little "bloated" over the years, not as bad as
RedBloat :)
Of course if you want a really "Spartin" install give OpenBSD a fling !!! I
would agree that Susie
is the worst install, with all taht CD swapping.
