There should have been upgrade instructions on the site where you
downloaded the file.

I expect that is an update designed to be run under DOS or Windows.  At least,
that is how I've always had to apply BIOS updates.  If your box is
dual-boot then you can boot into Windows and run the upgrade.  If you
don't have a dual boot, then you could try with a DOS floppy (you will
have to fit the *.exe on the floppy).

Do you have a compelling reason to update?  I don't think it is
recommended to update your bios unless it really fixes something that
you know is broken.  IMHO, I wouldn't apply a bios update "just because" it is
available.
