David,
Try getting to Mozilla as follows:
gnome-moz-remote --newwin %s
Where $s is the name of the URL, if any.
ALso, I checked my desktop link file. Look in the directory .gnome-desktop My file contained:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<nautilus_object nautilus_link="Generic Link"
custom_icon="file:///usr/share/pixmaps/mozilla-star.png"
link="command:mozilla"/>
